Raiders of the Lost Treasure Trail
A whip cracking, treasure stealing team adventure. Just don't leave your hat behind!
What is it?
The mystical powers of an ancient artefact bring your teams together in a legendary quest. A battle to solve a cryptic code, a collection of adventure challenges and a host of primitive civilisations stand in the way of the discovery of The Holy Grail.
All this and no monkey brains in sight!!
How does it work?
Indy Jones recently learnt about some fabled powers held by the Holy Grail whilst putting away several peach schnapps at the local explorer society bar. Apparently, sipping from the Holy Grail will bestow the drinker with eternal youth. Now hell-bent on living forever, Jones has banded together several groups of junior explorers to aid him in the quest for the Holy Grail.
With the opportunity to become Indy's new sidekicks, teams of budding adventurers compete to become the first to recover The Holy Grail.
Each team will begin the adventure with an ancient parchment detailing a riddle and clue. Solving these will allow the teams to navigate to a waypoint, where they will be met by a challenge. Each completed challenge will award teams with another parchment and additional clues needed in order to solve cryptic puzzles and locate the next waypoint.
Once all the challenges and puzzles have been completed, the teams will have the necessary information to discover the Grail's resting place.
Raiders of the Lost Treasure Trail is highly flexible, and the number and type of challenges undertaken by the teams can be adapted to suit your audience and objectives.
Example Challenges
Axe Throwing
An Aztec warrior is blocking the teams' path and is looking very angry. Team members need to impress the warrior by showing off their
axe-throwing skills. Hit the target and the Aztec will allow the team to pass and bestow them with another parchment.
Fragile Cargo
A fellow explorer has made a startling discovery inside a cave. He has found a crate filled with priceless artefacts. However, the explorer has very weak arms and the artefacts are fragile. He fears that if he drops the crates, he will destroy the objects. Teams will receive another clue from the explorer if they can carefully transport the crate to safety.
Spider's Web
Travelling through a cave, the teams encounter an 8ft tarantula sitting on its web. Luckily for the budding adventurers the spider is asleep, but their route takes them directly through the spider's web. Teams work together to pass each member safely through the web, without touching the sticky fibres. A clue will be found on the other side of the web....
Boulder Roll
Just as in Indy Jones' last famous adventure, a huge 6ft boulder faces the teams. This time however, the explorers will not be running away from the huge rock, but will need to work together to roll the boulder along a course in the quickest time. With the boulder out of the way, Indy himself will be impressed and will give the team another parchment.
Whip Practice
In anticipation of potential hostility upon reaching The Grail, the teams take on a lesson in whip-handling. An expert will teach the teams how to use their flexible weapons. Once they have mastered the basic techniques, the team will receive the next clue.
Hovercraft
With the Grail's resting place within the team's grasp, all that stands in their way is a fast flowing river. Luckily, the teams have a hovercraft at their disposal. Using careful skill, the explorers navigate a testing course in the hovercraft to reach the other side of the river.
The Holy Grail
When the teams have completed all their challenges, they will find the resting place of The Holy Grail, but will be confronted by 10 chalices.
Only by piecing together information in the clues will teams establish which of 10 chalices is the true Grail.
Teams will nominate one member to take a sip from their team's selected chalice - if the team has chosen wisely, the nominated member will receive the Elixir of Life - if not, they will taste something much more unpleasant!
As each team reaches The Grail, the teams who have already completed their quest can enjoy watching if their competitors are successful.
After all the teams have attempted to find the correct chalice, Indy Jones will announce the winning team: those who correctly chose The Holy Grail and performed best in all challenges. These members will then become Jones' new sidekicks!
