The Italianish Job
A high octane team based event that recreates the adrenaline and excitement of the fabled Italian Job. High Spec Mini Coopers, stolen loot, underworld crooks and fancy overalls are a few of the ingredients in an experience that guests will never forget.
What is it?
The Italian job is a themed adventure trail that can be based around any location.
Charlie Croker was expecting the bullion from the latest job this morning at the airfield, but when the plane arrived it was empty! Someone in the local area has got a safe full of gold and Charlie's boss, Mr Bridger, is not going to be happy.
With a convoy of Mini Coopers, participants travel to 'underworld' locations to find informants, complete challenges and win information. The clues lead teams to a secret hide out where the elusive safe awaits.
"It's a very difficult job and the only way to get through it is we all work together as a team. And that means you do everything I say." - Charlie Croker.
How does it work?
The Italian job consists of exploring and experiencing 6 manned locations with character challenges, 6 unmanned locations and an explosive finale.
Charlie Croker will arrive in style to brief your guests and split the group into teams. Each team receives a mission pack containing instructions from Mr Bridger, maps, first location clue, character sheet, quiz questions, photo acquisition list, scavenger hunt list, site specific questions relating to unmanned locations, a Polaroid camera and a radio. Teams will then be led to the fleet of 'minis' - which can be mini coopers or mini buses.
Each team will get ten minutes to work out a route before setting off. They will then track down some of Charlie's underworld associates and find the safe house.
At each location the informant will engage the team in a challenge. Completion of each challenge will be rewarded with part of a map reference, a further clue and sticks of dynamite. Teams should find all the informants and complete all the challenges to eventually discover the location of the safe house.
Manned Locations
Tinker - Tommy 'Tinker' Taylor can take a safe apart in just twelve minutes and that includes a cheese-on-toast break. Work out the correct numerical answers to a series of puzzles and use them as your combination code to crack open the safe. Only then will he give you the information you need.
Bookworm - The 'Bookworm' is a specialist accountant processing ill-gotten funds and has a penchant for learning foreign languages. She will only inform the teams of their next location should they possess the necessary qualities to talk like a native Italian... And chat up the natives, of course.
Bomber - Addicted to exercise and maintaining his body as a temple, Matt 'Bomber' Knuckles has a vigorous training regime that is never broken. Some fancy foot work and endurance is required if you want some information.
Silverfish - A woman with great international influence, especially in the Far East. 'Silverfish' is a member of the Japanese mafia - the Crazy 88. She has a reputation for a rapid and devastating settling of scores. She will test your acting ability to the full - perform a scene from a heist movie and she will clue you up.
Musket - 'Musket' spends most of his time with the rich and well-to-do. He is a huge fan of the finer things in life; classic cars, beautiful ladies, and golf. If you can shoot a few balls up the fairway, close enough to the mark, he will tell you what you need to know.
Unmanned Locations Challenges
Each unmanned and mission pack challenge completed correctly will provide teams with a further stick of dynamite to aid in their quest for the gold bullion.
Unmanned location challenges may be reduced depending on timings of the event:
Train station - Time tables for escape routes around Europe
Newsagent - A newspaper detailing gold prices
Laundrette - Pick up Mr Bridger's 'dirty laundry'
Industrial estate - Count the security cameras
Betting shop or racing track - Place a bet for Slim
Library - Fact finding
Internet cafe - Find details on a website
Tourist Information - To acquire area maps
National trust property - Answer specific questions
Museum - Answer site specific questions
Mission Pack Challenges
Quiz questions - A series of questions that can be tailored to the event, underworld characters or to your company.
Photo Reconnaissance Mission - As part of the loot recovery pack, there is a Polaroid camera with ten shots. Teams will capture as many of the subjects as possible on the photo acquisition list with just ten photos. The image is often in the eye of the beholder and Mr Bridger rewards imagination.
Scavenger Hunt List - The objects on the list are part of an order sheet for hooky goods that Mr Bridger is struggling to get his sticky mitts on at such short notice. As you find yourselves in a position to help out today, Mr Bridger will look favourably on the teams if they can collect a few of these items.
Each part of the pack completed correctly will provide teams with a further stick of dynamite.
Explosive Finale!
Once the safe has been found by a team, a call will be made to all cars advising them to rendezvous at that location. Once there, everyone will blow the safe and celebrate. 'They're only supposed to blow the door off, but I suppose a celebration is OK under the circumstances...'
