The Activity
Guests are split into teams, each team taking charge of a business for a fictional period of 8 years. Their objective is to maximise the enterprise value within a rapidly changing economy.
Teams will operate in one of the following market sectors: Financial Services, Information Technology, Construction Equipment, Oil Multi-National. In order to survive and thrive, each team will need to call upon the talents of their members, focus clearly on the task and allow each individual to contribute.
Each year begins with a Presidential Address outlining tax and fiscal policies as well as Government intentions. News bulletins and newspapers provide further information which influences team decisions. Teams can access the Internet and trade between themselves or with the Central Economic Surplus Desk.
The relative success of teams, will depend upon their working together to access and assess information. Human nature combined with time pressure ensures that all teams make mistakes. It is from these mistakes that valuable lessons can be drawn.
