Prohibition Party
It's the 1920's, America is in the depths of Prohibition. While socialist organisations fight for America's morals, an alternative world is formed, where organised crime rules and Al Capone's Mafia is king. This is the time of bootlegging and Jazz clubs, Gershwin and the Charleston, where guys and dolls drink fingers of whisky in speakeasies while evading Police raids - This is Prohibition.
What is it?
An Italian mobster themed evening of entertainment through drinks and dinner.
It's the 1920s and the Prohibition Act has made the manufacture and sale of alcohol a crime. A great reason for Don Corleone to throw the biggest underworld party you have ever seen!
Your 'family' has been cordially invited and the Don would be rather 'upset' if you didn't attend.
How does it work?
The secret venue is located down a backstreet alley. A shoeshine boy touts for business under a flickering street lamp and the air is filled with the woeful sound of a harmonica player busking for pennies.
Packing crates are stacked by a steel slit door way, flanked by the Don's henchmen, their features concealed by upturned collars and down turned hats.
You speak the password into the slit and the door opens, hitting you with warmth, colour and aroma. Once inside you are greeted by smiling flapper girls and the beat of jazz music.
'Families' wearing feather boas and trilby hats play cards and watch the cabaret dance routines from decorated tables.
Don Corleone
The place is really hotting up when suddenly the main door is flung open and two broad shouldered henchmen enter the room, followed by the Don. A man with deadly ambition, the Don welcomes the guests to his private function before taking his seat at the head table and signals the start of dinner.
Police Raid!
Further into the evening, a messenger dashes into the room. Nervously addressing the Don, he warns of an impending raid.
The lamps are blown out and the bottles cleared as guests are asked to remain quiet. The police arrive to stop the illegal party, but the Don is able to appeal to their 'better nature' with an exchange of cash.
Evening Fun and Illicit Forms of Entertainment
As coffee is served the Don returns to the stage to distribute cash to each family and encourages them to spend it on the illicit forms of entertainment around the room:
Black Jack - A game you play against the croupier. Keep drawing cards to reach 21 or sit tight and wait for someone else to go bust.
Casino Stud Poker - Just like five stud poker. Each player receives five cards face down and the dealer shows their own hand once. Players can play, fold, or play against the banker.
Craps - Craps is fast, furious and great fun. Bet on the odds of your roll while the rest of the table can bet with or against you. Throw the dice and hope for lucky number seven!
Roulette - Probably the best known casino game and easiest to play. Place your bet and watch the wheel spin. Where will the ball drop - red, black or maybe your lucky number?
Grand Prix - Giant Scalextric - Test your skills around a fast and furious six-lane track. Speed down the straights, ease off on the corners and master the chicanes to ensure pole position.
Shooting Simulator - Hit the random targets with your infra-red pulse rifle to score points.
Mega Bar Soccer - Four tables joined together for you to play a gigantic version of the beautiful game.
Video Horse Racing - Up to eight races on a huge video screen throughout the evening. Presented by our enthusiastic tout and assisted by friendly flapper girls to sell the tickets and calculate the winnings.
Wheel of Fortune - The odds are up on the wheel. Place your bets and spin to win! If it stops on the odds you've selected, you're in the money.
